CoolSculpting

Chernoff Cosmetic Surgery in Santa Rosa, CA is excited to offer CoolSculpting, an exciting technology that freezes fat! Too good to be true? It comes down to science. Fat cells freeze at higher temperatures than surrounding tissues. CoolSculpting technology safely delivers precisely controlled cooling to gently and effectively target the fat cells underneath the skin. The treated fat cells are crystallized (frozen), and then die. Over time, your body naturally processes the fat and sheds these dead cells.

You can reshape your body without surgery. Dr. Greg Chernoff and his body contouring specialists can develop a customized CoolSculpting treatment plan that addresses your problem areas. Additional sessions may further enhance your results. Your individualized treatment plan will be tailored to your body, your goals, and your budget.

The CoolSculpting procedure is not everyone or a weight loss solution for people who are obese. It is, however a non-surgical alternative to liposuction. You should not have the CoolSculpting procedure if you suffer from cryoglobulinemia or paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria. Dr. Chernoff will review your medical history and conditions during your consultation.

Dr. Chernoff and his body shaping professionals will create an individualized treatment plan tailored to your specific goals. The length of your CoolSculpting session will vary depending on the number of areas being treated during one visit. We may recommend additional CoolSculpting sessions combining CoolSculpting with CoolTone treatments in order to meet your body shaping and targeted fat reductions goals.

How Does CoolSculpting® Work?

It’s easy to sit back, relax and say goodbye to stubborn fat. In fact, many of our CoolSculpting patients read, watch videos, work on their laptop, or even take a nap during their treatment.

After the body area(s) are selected for treatment, the CoolSculpting the device is positioned on your body and controlled cooling is applied. As the cooling begins during the first few minutes, you will feel pressure and intense cold. This soon dissipates. During the procedure you may experience deep pulling, tugging, pinching, numbness and some mild discomfort.*

Once the treated fat cells are crystallized (frozen), your body processes the fat and sheds these dead cells. The CoolSculpting fat freezing procedure is completely non-surgical.

Prior to any CoolSculpting procedure, Dr. Chernoff or one of our trained and certified Health Care Providers determine if you are a candidate, review the risk and benefits, and provide all possible treatment alternatives.

Following the procedure, typical side effects include temporary numbness, redness, swelling, bruising, firmness, tingling, stinging and pain.

Rare side effects may also occur. CoolSculpting and CoolSculpting Elite may cause a visible enlargement in the treated are, which may develop 2 to 5 months after treatment and requires surgical intervention for correction. Refer to www.coolsculpting.com.
